History

1972

A P Broome Landscapes was founded by Anthony Broome Sr., who began working on domestic gardens and maintaining the grounds of a small local nursing home with a handful of family employees from his home in Leyland.

1983

Anthony Broome Jr. joined the business full-time at 18, after assisting his father during evenings and weekends, and completing a national certificate in general horticulture.

2002

The company continued to grow, and in 2002 was awarded additional gas site contracts across the north of England for a blue-chip provider, establishing a niche in the market.

2005

As the business expanded beyond the capacity of the family home, it relocated to a larger site two miles away, which, following major refurbishment, remains the company’s head office today.

2008

Following the sudden passing of Anthony Broome Sr., Anthony Broome Jr. and Tracie Broome, became directors. Driven by their shared work ethic and ambition, the company doubled in size within the first year under their leadership.

2009

A P Broome Landscapes further expanded its operations by securing a major contract for grounds maintenance of electricity substations across the UK. Today, the company continues to service approximately 17,000 substations nationwide.

2016

Grounds Maintenance

Building on over 44 years of partnership with one of the UK’s leading energy providers, A P Broome Landscapes has extended its reach to the South East, South West, and South Wales.

2024

In 2024, Anthony and Tracie Broome retired, passing the leadership of the business to the next generation. Their son, Adam, and daughter, Laura, assumed control of the company, bringing fresh energy and vision while maintaining the family values and commitment to excellence that have defined A P Broome Landscapes for decades.
