On leaving school, I started working in landscaping. It is a job I really enjoy and I now have over 10 years’ experience working within the industry.
I started working for A.P. Broome Landscapes in June 2017 in the MAC Contracts (Maintenance And Civils) Department. We were working on the Blackburn-with-Darwen Contract.
I am really enjoying working with a great team and we are now working on some really prestigious jobs, like the new Miller Homes development at Chorley and Catterall sites.
A.P. Broome encourage us to grow with the company and provide us with the correct tools, experience and training to carry out all our jobs to the best of our abilities.
Currently I am doing an NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture.
I actually look forward to coming to work in a morning and it feels like you are part of a genuine family business and you are not treated like ‘just a number’.
I work hard and I have relished the opportunity to advance and learn. I am now a ‘Team Leader’ and I love the challenge.
Our teams have a great working relationship, so much so, we even have a 5-A-Side football team!
