On leaving school, I started working in landscaping.  It is a job I really enjoy and I now have over 10 years’ experience working within the industry. I started working for A.P. Broome Landscapes in June 2017 in the MAC Contracts (Maintenance And Civils) Department.  We were working on the Blackburn-with-Darwen Contract. I am really enjoying working with a great team and we are now working on some really prestigious jobs, like the new Miller Homes development at Chorley and Catterall sites. A.P. Broome encourage us to grow with the company and provide us with the correct tools, experience and training to carry out all our jobs to the best of our abilities. Currently I am doing an NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture. I actually look forward to coming to work in a morning and it feels like you are part of a genuine family business and you are not…

This includes rotavating and prepping the gardens, turfing, planting and mulching.  We also install the timber fencing at Miller’s Parklands View site in Chorley. We have recently started works on the 200 house Beacon Park site in Catterall. [us_gallery ids="7221,7222,7223,7224,7225,7226,7227,7228,7229,7230,7231,7232" layout="masonry" columns="4" indents="1"]

I started working with AP Broome in October 2017, after spending all my life working alongside my family in the milk delivery business. I first met Tony in 2004 and we have always had a good relationship as our business was located right next door to A.P. Broome's.  Actually Tony bought the premises off my dad and since then has gone from strength to strength. In September 2017 we sold the milk delivery business.  But after working all my life and getting up very early to do the milk round, I really wanted another job that gave me the opportunity to learn something new and give me a challenge. Since starting at A.P. Broome as the yard foreman, I was given responsibility of looking after the plant and machinery that is issued to the operational staff for their daily jobs. I enjoy every minute working for Tony as it really is like…

We had the pleasure of having the Myerscough College Students at A.P. Broome Landscapes again.  They are currently studying their NVQ Level 3 Landscape and Sports turf.  The group have been studying A.P. Broome Landscapes Ltd as part of their qualification and every year we look forward to seeing the next generation of Landscapers.  It was refreshing to see the genuine interest shown by the students and we are sure they will do well at Myerscough College and beyond.

Thank you all so much for our amazing tree, it has really made a difference for our students to have such a beautiful tree this time of the year. We are so grateful for your generosity and it was so kind of you to agree to supply us with a tree. A.P. Broome are now officially a friend of Selly Oak and we look forward to working with you in the future. [us_separator type="invisible" size="small"][us_single_image image="7462"]

It looks like our staff had an amazing time at Water Aid's race night.  A.P. Broome were proud to be one of the sponsors for such a good cause, changing the lives of people by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. Our Area Officer Tony Jones and his wife Julia have had a lucky night tonight at the masquerade ball in support of WaterAid UK.  They won 6 out of 7 races which included an amazing 6 day holiday to Borneo!  Massive congratulations to them both.  Keep an eye out in the future for photos of their lovely trip.
